Welcome to Riad Dar Barbara

Our hotel is tucked away close to the palm groves in the village of Tadja - just 3km from the centre of Ouarzazate. It is newly built by our family, using traditional building methods such as pise – mud and straw – but has all the comforts of modern life.  Our water supply is mostly heated by solar power, in keeping with current environmental concerns.

The magnificent roof terraces provide spectacular views over the High Atlas Mountains, adjoining palm groves and the El Mansour lake the lake is   famous for its’ birdlife and  lends itself as an occasional location for the local international film studios.

Hassan and Jilly Akkioui, the Moroccan/English owners love Morocco and want you to enjoy your time in this country to the full.  We can arrange adventures in the desert, trekking in the mountains, most sorts of biking, visits to the film studios, lunches in the unspoilt Oasis of Fint, or gentle strolls to the lake or the palm groves surrounding the hotel.

We offer a personal, professional service to ensure your stay with us is as relaxing or stimulating as you choose and our friendly staff are on hand at all times to assist you at all times.
